Okay, so this is about my bellybutton piercing. I just turned 16 on December the 10th. (Finally!!) he he HURRAY!. I've always liked piercing ( specially lately)and I've only had my ear lobes done, and then my cartilage on my top left ear. So I figured since id be turning 16 its time for a step up. about 2 weeks before my birthday my mom took me to go get my nose pierced as a birthday present ( which I might add, was one of the worst pains I've ever felt in my life, because he couldn't get the ring through, because it was in the shape of a horse shoe but finally he did manage to get it in, and it was sore for the first hour, but it went away quickly, which I was very thankful for)and I'm happy to report that its doing just fine, and next Saturday, will be marking 6 weeks, so then I can change it to one of the pretty little studs I received for Christmas. anyways, so then on my birthday I was at the mall with a couple friends doing some Christmas shopping, and we passed by a l ittle jewelry shop, and I'm like Hey, I'm going to get the right cartilage pierced ( not by the top, but about the middle).So I went in and did it. My Mom thought it was very cute. Okay, so now I'm addicted to piercing... what can you do except get some more now?
So the other day ( Friday the 27th) I was sitting in the living room with my auntie & mom and we were talking about something, and I mentioned I wanted another piercing, ( perhaps my bellybutton) but I always said before this though, that id wait till I got super skinny, but I figure that its probably not going to happen. (I'm a little chubby) but I figure I'm not going to be showing it to everyone and it's just for me anyways, plus I don't wear skanky clothing and stuff, so my stomach never shows anyways, so I'm like... hmm... this sounds good. So why not? If people don't like it. Too bad, they don't have to see it. So I set my mind to it and I wanted to go ahead with the idea.
So my auntie said it was a good idea, and I asked my mom for the number for the tattooing & piercing place that we go too. (Eye of the Lotus in Edmonton) it's quite wonderful there, I must say.
Anyways.... so I grabbed the phone and made a call. I had an appointment the next day (Saturday) for 1:00pm to go get it done.
So my friend chelc, my mom and I all went. We filled out the forms and waited, while my piercer was helping another lady with her ring. anyways so when it was my turn me & chelc went to the room where his stuff is set up (my mom doesn't like to watch things like this so she waited in the lobby area) anyways we were having a laugh about everything and just talking, which was making me feel better (I wasn't nervous or anything) I was just excited, so it was nice to feel at ease.
so then he got me to roll up my shirt, and he clean out my bellybutton ( which I kept giggling at cause his finger was moving around in my bellybutton) and then he marked it, so I said good, and I lied down, he then clamped my bellybutton ( which like I agree with some people, it hurt like hell!) its just that tight little pinching , that makes u want to squirm a little, then he put in the needle and I'm like "ouch." :) that's it, it felt weird going though the layers of skin, but it was fine, then he put on the little ball for the bar bell and that's it.
Today is the 2nd day I've had it, and so far it's quite alright. I've cleaned it about 6 times yesterday and did 2 salt soaks. and same pretty much same with today. anyways, I was able to sleep on my stomach last night, which was great ( since I can only fall asleep on my stomach ) so I think that's a good sign that it doesn't hurt? Am I right? :) I keep on forgetting its there though, and I keep knocking against it, loll then it hurts, but that's okay.
I'm happy to report that my piercing was quite good. I just want to get some more now.
Its strange now that I got like 3 piercings in about 1 month: p, I still have about 3 more to go, then I think ill be done :)
Anyways, I hope it heals well. I think if anyone's interested in doing it, that they should, they should expect a little bit of pain though, I suggest getting your cartilage pierced first, so u can feel what it feels like for a needle to go through your skin, and then the pain that goes along with it (including how difficult it is to sleep on) so I think if u can deal with your ear being done up there, then u can deal with your bellybutton.
