Good experience
I decided to get pierced at a studio called Laughing Buddha, since I've seen a friend get pierced there and heard stories of others. I got there in the morning, filled out paper work (paper work saying I am responsible to everything that happens, and that I am of legal age, also they made copied of my ID), then I went to the store to grab a snack (they wouldn't pierce on an empty stomach, they said it gives me a greater chance of bleeding, and if they do it on a full stomach it is safer), and came back. The guy doing my piercing (and his assistant) brought me into the room and started preparing all the tools, including bending my nose ring into the necessary shape. They were both super friendly and talked to myself and my boyfriend (who came with me) the whole time. They both had many years of experience and both had plenty of piercings and tattoos. They were in their 20's. As he was bending the ring, it fell on the ground so his assistant got a new one. They used sterile to ols, all of the packages were opened in front of me (nothing was prepared ahead of time, which is how it should be! That is the only way you will know that the tools they were using are sterile).I heard from many friends (and from doing research on-line) that nose a piercing either hurts bad or don't hurt at all, depending on the person.
At A Glance Author Lidcivic When A month ago Artist Justin Studio Laughing Buddha Location Seattle, WA A few of my friends have their nose pierced and all I heard was horror stories, both friends bled after they got pierced and also experienced swelling, so I was not looking forward to the process. I was for sure expecting blood, or at least a bit of swelling for at least a week.
I was a bit scared so I decided to get pierced lying down. He cleaned my nose and (while I was still sitting up) he made a dot on my nostril to direct his needle, then he asked me if that is the place I wanted it done at and I said yes. After I laid down he told me to take three deep breaths, then he stuck the needle through (no clamp was used)...He left the needle in as he got the ring ready, then he carefully inserted the ring in my nose and I was done! I sat up and grabbed the mirror and made sure it looked like I envisioned it. It looked wonderful!! On a scale of 1-10 the pain was about a 3, I say that because it hurt for a second while the needle was going in but it was very tolerable! The feeling could be compared to someone pinching your nostril really hard for a total of about 2 seconds, that is what the needle felt like to me. As the ring went it I felt some pain but it was hardly anything...Since I got my left nostril pierced, my left eye watered after the needle wen t in but as soon as he was done it stopped watering. I love the piercing! After I got it I NEVER had any problems with it, in fact it has always felt healed (even though I know it takes a few months before its completely healed). I wash with Dial soap every day, usually during my shower. I try to not get any makeup or face cleaner on it and if I do I wash it out with Dial again. Also you have to be careful when cleaning it with a towel, I suggest to use toilet paper or tissue paper because it is cleaner then a bath towel. Be careful to not pull it out!! It never swelled, never bled, never even got red. Now I am waiting to get a new ring because the one I got pierced with is too large for me (the piercer left a little extra room in case of swelling).
I began considering getting my nostril pierced, and 4 days later I did it. A year ago I got my naval pierced and had a bad experience, and also I never considered getting a second piercing because I work in health care and it is not accepted in the field. The nose piercing I thought would be ok because once it heals I could always get a small, skin colored nose ring that wouldn't stand out. After I got it I never had any problems, as a matter of fact most people asked me "did you always have your nose pierced or did you just get it?"...
If you want to get your nose pierced I definitely recommend it! It looks great and the piercing process is comparable to getting your ears pierced...Just make sure you go to a good reputable piercing studio! Cheers...
