Let me start off by telling you a little bit about myself. Well, my name is Cassy, I'm 13, I have a twin sister named Andy, and the only piercings I've ever had are my lobes(baby), a second piercing in the right lobe(8), my cartilage(11),and another cartilage in a different spot(12). So as you might have noticed this is my first real piercing.Enough about me lets get on with the story.....
It all started last year a few weeks before my 13th birthday. I had always thought a navel ring was the coolest piercing I'd ever seen but I never asked my mom because I knew she'd say no. So I finally got up the courage to just ask her, it was worth a try right? Well, when I did ask her to no surprise she said no. So I bugged her and bugged her until my birthday but the answer was always no. I decided I'd have to convince her to let me get it done for Christmas. So Andy and I started researching and she found this site which is totally perfect. For the rest of the year I would sit and research and read stories after stories and of course, thanks to BME, all of my questions were answered. So all that I had left to do was wait.
Finally christmas morning came and as I opened the last present under the tree. My reaction was: "A box of garbage?". Then my mom pointed out the envelope under the garbage. I opened it and it was a gift certificate for one navel piercing at Sonic, the tattoo and piercing parlor right around the corner.
I woke up bright and early on the sunday after Christmas and got ready as fast as I could. When we got to sonic our friend Kandace was supposed to be there so we asked the guy at the counter if a man and his daughter had come before us and the guy said that they came a few minutes ago but they didn't have the proper ID so they went to her mom's house to get it. We filled out some papers and my hand was shaking so much I could hardly write but i got through it. Then me and my little brother went and sat on the chairs and my mom and Andy went into a room in the restricted area. Then a few minutes later Pete brought me into the room and I left my poor little 10 year old brother in a strange place with tattoo's on the wall all by himself. Now that I think about it I feel pretty bad for leaving him alone I should have invited him to come with me. Any way back to the story, Pete brought me into the room where I saw my sister sitting with her shirt up beaming at her cute little jew eled belly. I asked her if it hurt and she told me she hardly felt it. Pete brought me into the room to tell me and my sister the aftercare together to save time. Then it was my turn my sister got up and I sat down. I was sooo nervous. Pete prepared everything than he cleaned my belly and told me to stand up so he could mark me after he marked me I didn't even get to see it but it turned out perfect in the end anyway so it wouldn't have made a difference. He told me to sit down on the chair and push it back so the chair would recline. Then he put the clamp on which didn't hurt AT ALL (i don't know why people say it hurts more than the needle? I hardly even felt it.)then he told me to take a deep breath and I felt the needle slide smoothly through my skin. All I felt was a little pinch but I guess its different for everyone. Then he pulled the needle out and slipped in the jewelery I didn't feel a thing. I stood up and we walked out of the room. I showed my brother who smil ed and asked "did it hurt?" but I don't think he really cared. My mom
told us to go pay while she looked at the tattoo's. As I handed the guy my $25 Kandace walked in. We showed her our belly buttons proudly and she said they looked great. She told us she had to wait till 4:00 to get hers done because her mom was up north and she wasn't getting back till then. So we went back to my house, got some more money and bought our aftercare products. Later we met Kandace's mom at Sonic and I got to watch the whole procedure (I didn't look when I was getting mine done). It wasn't as bad as I thought it would look. But it hurt kandace pretty bad, like I said I guess it's different for everyone.
It has now been a day and sleeping was easy and I haven't really banged it yet. I've cleaned it once which took a pretty long time I guess I'll have to start waking up earlier before school. But I can totally say it's worth it. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to get it done but just make sure you do it professionally.happy piercing everyone.
